State of the art babycare facilities and toilets were opened yesterday (11th July) at the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre.

Marking one of the first major milestones in the redevelopment of The Putney Exchange, the new facility includes specially designed breastfeeding chairs, bottle warmers, convenient side tables and specially designed overhead mobiles to keep baby happily entertained whilst being changed.

The inclusion of energy efficient hand driers, lighting sensors to save on electricity when not in use and sensor taps/soap dispensers have been designed to keep waste to a minimum.

Three changing areas complete with integral soap and hand basins aims to ensure comfort and practicality for parents with young babies and toddlers.

Commenting on the new facility, Anne Partridge, Centre Manager said “We have worked hard to create a relaxed environment for nursing mums and believe this will make a real difference to the overall shopping experience for local families. We spent many months consulting with local parents researching what was most important to them when shopping with young families and we have responded to that with a beautifully bespoke designed baby care suite that is truly exceptional and we believe will deliver a superior customer experience”.

Another important addition is the inclusion of two spacious family cubicles in the baby changing area which allow mum or dad to use the facilities privately together without having to split up – a feature that is often requested by families with young children. The toilets and sinks in this area are provided at low level for little ones.

Centre Manager, Anne Partridge adds: “Delivering what our customers wanted influenced the final design of the baby care suite and we’ve included some features that make a real difference to parents such as automatic doors into the suite for buggies and prams, a television to keep mum entertained while she feeds, overhead mobiles to distract little one and disposable bib and nappy vending for those little emergencies”.
