Three years in Putney, award finalists and a fortieth birthday
Owners & siblings Serena & Edward Turle are very proud to say last year Parsons Nose were nominated as finalists for Butcher of the Year Southern England Awards 2010 voted by our peers which is praise indeed.
Serena said:
"This year we hope to win! The awards ceremony was a glitzy event held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London and a great day out for all the team. The Butcher's Shop of the Year Awards are renowned as the premier event for the UK butcher sector. They recognise excellence in craft butchery and winners enter an exclusive group representing the crème de la crème of British butchery."
She continued:
"The awards meant our little Parsons Nose empire of two shops have been recognized and applauded for all our hard work. Our vision to return to times gone by and provide fine quality free range meat, a wide selection of cuts (many forgotten over time) together with a more traditional style customer service."
Recently Parsons Nose appeared on BBC1 Masterchef as finalist Tom Whitaker and resident of Putney was filmed shopping for his lamb to prepare for the judges, click here for the footage or it can be seen on their website www.parsonsnose.co.uk.
"We are also celebrating our third anniversary in the Putney shop. We took it on as Buckleys and one year ago we enjoyed a refit and change of name to Parsons Nose and have not looked back. Christopher Hughes, our butcher, is often described as an unofficial celebrity within the community to those who enjoy his banter and charming ways. The shopping experience becomes one to look forward to. You will be greeted by name, friendly catch up about your latest purchase and what you might like to try this week. Chris (pictured right) also celebrates a landmark birthday the same day we celebrate our third year trading in Putney, but don’t tell him we told you! We hope to see you in our shop soon!"
