Single operator should reduce costs for businesses and traffic on High Street
In an effort to tackle rising costs for local businesses a new contract has been signed for trade waste disposal in the Putney Business Improvement District.
Positively Putney BID has joined forces with City & Suburban Waste services, an independent and family owned local business to offer cheaper trade waste services. They will operate within the council time bands for trade waste collection. They take the waste to produce green energy. Consolidating collections to a single supplier should mean less traffic, less pollution and much healthier air quality.
It is part of a joint procurement scheme launched by Positively Putney which uses the collective buying power of the BID members to reduce everyday business costs. By procuring together they increase their chances of getting a better deal.
Positively Putney BID have set up a partnership with Meercat Associates who are specialists in sourcing and managing contracts for individual businesses and have a track record of partnership working with BIDs across the country.
Meercat Associates has promised to secure the best prices, find the most appropriate service, manage all the contracts for renewal or switching to the right deal. The procurement service is free to all BID members.
These cost saving initiatives were launched on Wednesday 12th July at a business networking event in the Boathouse pub.
The Positively Putney Business Improvement District is a not for profit company funded by the businesses to support the businesses, started operating on 1st April 2017 following a successful ballot in 2016.
