Putney MP Opens New Nursery

Charity solves nursery places shortage in Putney

Local charity, Wandsworth Voluntary Sector Development Agency (WVSDA), believe that they have solved one of local residents major headaches; the lack of nursery places for babies and children under five years in West Putney.

Putney parents were enraged last year as the previous owners of a day nursery in Lacy Road Putney announced that they were to close leaving parents stranded with no local nursery provision.

Many parents complained to Putney MP, Justine Greening about the lack of local nursery provision. Greening agreed to meet with parents and staff at the official opening of the new nursery, Puddle-ducks, in Lacy Road Putney and reassure them of the long-term future of the nursery.

Stefan Kuchar, Chief Executive, WVSDA, said, “We have worked closely with the Justine Greening, MP, Wandsworth Council and local parents to help provide a quality nursery service in an outstanding garden setting. We are confident the newly refurbished nursery will meet the needs of local parents."
