Putney Property Prices Rise By 10%

Renewed Activity at Top End of Market Stirs Recovery

The latest numbers from the Land Registry show that property prices in Putney once again dropped in the last quarter. However, there have been eight properties sold with price tags over one million in comparison to none in the same period last year.

Both the national and London trend which saw rises over the same period.

Data from the last quarter shows that prices have dropped slightly over the quarter to bring the average price of a property in Putney to £314,248 from £316,522.

The figures came before the latest rise in the base rate so it remains unclear how this will impact the market.

Property in the SW15 1 postcode areas have seen a rise in average prices this quarter although the total number of properties sold has dropped. In conast all property sectors of the SW15 2 postcodes have seen a drop in average price and sales.

Stephen Rodgers of local IFA Berkeley Consultants, has noticed a slight cooling in demand for property since Easter but nothing significant. Activity levels of first time and subsequent buyers reduced in April however that is not surprising when you have Easter at one end of the month and a bank holiday at the other. He feels the resurgence of City bonuses should shore up the market over the summer.
