First sale under £90,000 for three years
Property sale numbers for the SW15 continue to indicate that some measure of health is returning to the local home market.
Volumes have recovered from the all-time lows seen earlier in the year and the average price achieved in April was approaching £500,000.
A flat in Tunworth Crescent was sold for £85,000; this is the first time a property has changed hands in the area for under £90,000 since 2006.
However, properties at the top end of the market remain in demand. A flat in Putney Wharf tower sold for £960,000.
For London as a whole the Land Registry index shows the average price for April at £297,155 down 0.2% on the previous month and down by 15.7% on the year. Prices have fallen for the last twelve months.
