Fittings described as 'uncompromising in their level of opulence'
An MP representing a constituency in the Midlands is selling his house in Putney for £4.3 million pounds according to a local newspaper.
The Coventry Telegraph says that Nadhim Zahawi, who represents the Stratford-on-Avon constituency is selling the property in the Putney Heath area through estate agents Winkworth. The description for the Tudor-style property states "the decor is quite magnificent, the materials throughout are uncompromising in their level of opulence."
The agent goes on to described the house as “one of the most outstanding properties to be placed in the market in recent years.”
The Iraqi born MP was educated at Ibstock Place school and is one of the co-founders of YouGov.
Mr. Zahawi was brought to England as a child by his family who were fleeing the regime of Saddam Hussein. He is a self-made millionaire who gained a substantial fortune through the success of his polling firm.
However, last year he was subject to criticism after it emerged that he claimed £4,000 in expenses for electricity to supply stables and a mobile home in the stable yard at a property in his constituency. He later repaid the money stating that he made the claim in error.
