Putney Social Entrepreneur Donates £25,000 To Ambitious about Autism

Taking Charlotte Grobien's donations to £1m

Social entrepreneur Charlotte Grobien has donated £25,000 to support Ambitious about Autism’s youth participation work. The donation takes the amount to £1million Charlotte has given to different charities through her property development initiative Give it Away. The project gives the profits made from selling properties Charlotte’s team redevelops to charities.

She visited Ambitious about Autism, the national charity for children and young people with autism, to present the £25,000 cheque to members of its Youth Council. Charlotte spent a morning talking to the Youth Patrons and looked at the photographs they are producing to mark World Autism Awareness Month in April.

Charlotte Grobien, social entrepreneur and Ambitious Friend, said:
“Give it Away is the perfect way for me to support the excellent work of Ambitious about Autism. I’ve been involved with the charity for a long time and seen it grow from portacabins to the amazing building that it’s in today.
I like to be involved in charity work that progresses young people’s lives and being with Ambitious about Autism’s Youth Patrons reminds me why I trudge around wet building sites to raise money to support such great work.”

Anne Shinkwin, Director of Fundraising for Ambitious about Autism, said:
“We are delighted with Charlotte’s generous donation and that she spent time with our Youth Patrons and heard about their experiences.
We will be able to use the money to continue the work we do encouraging young people with autism to actively take part in and influence our work to raise autism awareness.“
