Novanta offers friendly service and huge portions
There was a warm welcome at the busy restaurant despite having no reservation, and the service was swift with a chilled bottle of Sardinian S'eleme Vermentino di Gallura (£21).
The pasta dishes at neighbouring tables were well received but the portions sizes too much for us - a must to take my teenage sons to as they can never get enough on their plates!
My friend ordered the Pastore pizza (£10.50) - a large crispy pizza baked in their handmade pizza oven topped with tomato, mozzarella, gorgonzola cheese & pepperoni. I opted for one the special a seared tuna steak with beetroot salad (£14.95). Two tuna steaks seared with sesame seeds topped a gorgeous beetroot salad and was cooked perfectly pink.
The staff were very friendly and unobtrusive - we sat on the front pavement location
with music playing in the background which cuts down the hum of the Lower Richmond Rd. As previously mentioned the portions sizes are generous in these times of austerity and so I would return with the family next time! Total costs (£47.75 excluding service)
