Fabulous fish finger sandwich makes one very happy diner
The kids are back at school and it is time to catch up on chores and friends! So bumping into a friend on the High Street mid chores resulted in an impromptu visit to the Whistle & Flute.
The pub is attractively decorated in modern muted colours with a selection of leather sofas in the windows and dinning tables - the regulars gave us both a warm welcome, it is obviously a much loved pub for many a Putney man - could this be because of the sky news and sky sports screens that were on (BUT muted)?! The bar maid was a fabulous asset - she was extremely welcoming and efficient in service embodying the meaning of hospitality.
There is an extensive menu available at lunch and evenings, plus a £5 lunch menu available from 11am - 6pm which offers a range of sandwiches and wraps with chips - you guessed it - fish finger sandwich was one of them! My friend quickly changed her choice to this as she is a great fan and not had them for many a year! I opted for the Chicken Caesar Salad (no parmesan please) and whilst we waited we had a bowl of marinated olive (£2.50) - great but be warned very garlicky and should not be taken if off to a dentist, first date or interview!
