West Putney family find the Bake At Home Pizza Company pizzas a great success
Pizza is always a popular meal in our family kitchen whether it is delivered on a moped in large steaming boxes or baked after a trip to the supermarket but this week we have discovered "the best yet"- Bake At Home Pizza's!
It all started a few weeks ago when we answered the door to be greeted by a smiling chef handing out menus - we discovered this was Joshua Beth the owner, head chef, managing director, manager
and even delivery driver from time
to time of Fulham's Bake at Home Pizza Company.
His plan is that the pizza you eat is piping hot and crisp not soggy from a cardboard box. How does it work?
We called up and placed our order for
* 9" Number 8 (Prosciutto Crudo, Black Olives, Summer Artichokes, Free-Range Egg, Chives, Cream & Mozzarella) £8
*9" Number 11 (Goat’s Cheese, Red Onion Chutney, Roasted Tomatoes, Basil, Tomato & Mozzarella) £10
* 12" Number 1 (Tomato & Buffalo Mozzarella Base, then create your own bespoke pizza,
pick any 4 ingredients from the menu) - ours was half kept plain and one half with Prosciutto Crudo £12
* Garlic Bread £4
* Chocolate cake £2
* Chocolate Chip Cookies £4 (4 in an order)
at this time we were told to turn our oven on to the top temperature to be ready to get cooking..
The delivery man turned up at the requested time and this is where the differences became apparent - no cardboard boxes, simple brown paper bags with clear cooking instructions contained the items which are on parchment paper on top of cardboard and then shrink wrapped (the latter item being the only non recyclable part of your order).

The boys thoroughly enjoyed their pizza - BUT they have asked for one each (their appetites are huge - especially when pizza or pasta is on the menu!). The cookie were the favourite of the desserts - although you should read the instructions & as hard as it is, you should allow the cookies to cool a little before eating! |
Sophisticated palates is a label that may not apply to all members of my family but comments such as "authentic", "really yummy", "less greasy" have all been bandied across the table - with even my younger son commenting on the quality and freshness of the toppings, in particular the tomato base was praised for texture and taste. Finally you know that the pizza passed muster with the request to have them again soon!
