Park put in a tremendous performance to halt Blackheath’s run of seven successive wins. Park’s line speed and committed tackling effectively snuffed out the second placed club.

Three penalties - two from fly half Scott Sneddon, plus one from centre Harry Leonard - saw Park ease to 9-0 ahead after 27 minutes of a fiercely competed London Derby.

With 5 minutes to the interval, Park full-back Henry Robinson finished off a fine move for the first try of the match, Sneddon’s conversion attempt from out wide hitting the post. Park took a deserved 14-0 lead into half time.

Blackheath drew first blood after the interval with a penalty from full-back Leo Fielding.

Park came roaring back with a try from flanker Josh Ovens for 21-3 with Sneddon’s conversion.

With Park now well on top flanker Adam Frampton added a further try on 68 minutes, Sneddon converted for 28-3.


Park Captain Hugo Ellis strikes out

Park tried to kick on for the 4-try bonus but ran out of time. They will be pleased with this display, but know they will need to step up again when they visit Gloucestershire next Saturday to play League-leaders Hartpury, who still have a 100% record after 9 matches.

Rosslyn Park Forwards’ Coach, Kieran Power, was a happy man:
“This was an all round performance that we have been looking for, and as a group it has been something we have been building towards in recent weeks”.

But he warned:
“Although a good win puts a smile on the face it doesn't make a season and we need to capitalise on this momentum into the coming weeks where we have some big challenges. Hartpury, next Saturday’s opponents, are top of the table and have had some emphatic score lines of late and we need to be fully focused and at our best to deal with their threats -but also to cause them some headaches as well!”
