Great View But Hygiene Not Up To Scratch

'Improvement required' as hygiene rating for Thai Square only 2 out of 5

Thai Square

Thai Square has one of Putney's most enviable views, described on its website as 'an iconic landmark building', but following a visit from Wandsworth Council food safety team (October 9) the hygiene score does not match it.

The restaurant received a two star rating from inspectors which means they believe improvement is necessary.

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme allows the public to see the results of food hygiene inspections as a rating from 0 to 5. Rating certificates and window stickers are sent out to businesses after assessment.

The restaurant was ranked Poor for 'Structural Compliance' which includes; (including cleanliness, layout, condition of structure, lighting, ventilation, facilities etc.), received a Fair for 'Food Hygiene & Safety' (including food handling practices and procedures, and temperature control) and the food safety team registered some confidence in the management team

Scores on the Doors is a website that collates information on the food premises supplied by the Food Standards Agency and provided by local authorities.  Wandsworth Council inspects most of the 2,132 food premises in Wandsworth each year - the aim as stated on the council website is to 'to ensure that food sold to the public is safe to consume'.
