Putney Super Vikings vs Marble Hill CC
Our last game of the season was a dead rubber and not really a competitive game as the opposition were a couple of players short, still we made the most of it and provided them with a couple of fielders to make it a bit more competitive.
Marble Hill won the toss and elected to bat. Macca and Willow opened the bowling and it wasn’t long before Macca picked up a couple wickets in quick succession. Harry and Imran came on for the first change and also bowled well each picking up a wicket. Chin was bating for the oppo at this stage and had hit a couple of big sixes straight down the ground before Imran tempted him into one shot to many. When Macca batting alone (also batting for the oppo) was finally run out pushing for a second run they were all out for 65.
Piers 7 and Harry 21 opened up the batting and got PSV off to a steady start, Macca and Chin continued to field for the oppo so there was some good banter particularly when Owen was caught by a good catch from Chin behind the stumps. Imran 11* and Dez 14* picked off the last of the runs to conclude what was an easy chase.
This was PSV's last game of the regular season we now play the Invalids tomorrow night, if we win the group stage final we will be into the Champions League. The first of the knock out games will be played in Regents Park this Sunday.
I would like to finish off by thanking everyone that has played in the LMS League this Summer, it has been a very enjoyable season which has also produced some good results 8 wins from 10 games.
