Established Putney restaurateur Emil Fahmy recognised for his cellar
Emile's restaurant has been nominated by Imbibe the trade magazine as finalist for 'Wine List of the Year 2013'. The restaurant has been part of the Putney scene for over 23
years. Described by one Putney resident as:
".. my favourite restaurant by far, amazing value, great wine list that isn't overly priced and they always try to offer the best seasonal food on the menu."
Imbibe magazine was launched in 2007 and has rapidly established itself as the UK’s leading publication for on-trade drinks professionals in premium establishments. Part of the Square Meal publishing house it is published bi-monthly. The magazine’s editorial coverage takes in all the main drinks categories, from wine to water, spirits to soft drinks.
According to Imbibe:
"Emile's clearly knows its
market - and the list reflects
that. Printed on tracing paper,
it's c1ear, concise (about 50
bins) and easy to follow, while the 16-bin Fine Wine list caters for those on a moderate splurge."
Other London restaurants on the shortlist include Hakkasan &
Marcus Wareing at The Berkeley.
Emil told PutneySW15.com:
"I was thrilled to have been nominated as a finalist for the 2013 Imbibe Wine List of the Year as after so many years (26 years!) of running and owning an independent restaurant it is just great to have gained recognition by ones peers in the restaurant business."
