Local fast food delivery company gets lowest possible hygiene rating

It was 'Nil point' not for a Eurovision entry for the United Kingdom but for the Bite of China delivery service following a visit from Wandsworth Council food safety team.



The Upper Richmond Road based update received the lowest possible score from the inspectors who rated their food hygiene standards as 'very bad'.

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme allows the public to see the results of food hygiene inspections as a rating from 0 to 5. Rating certificates and window stickers are sent out to businesses after assessment.

The restaurant was ranked Fair for 'Structural Compliance' which includes; (including cleanliness, layout, condition of structure, lighting, ventilation, facilities etc.), received a Very Bad for 'Food Hygiene & Safety' (including food handling practices and procedures, and temperature control) and the food safety team registered No confidence in the management team

Scores on the Doors is a website that collates information on the food premises supplied by the Food Standards Agency and provided by local authorities.  Wandsworth Council inspects most of the 2,132 food premises in Wandsworth each year - the aim as stated on the council website is to 'to ensure that food sold to the public is safe to consume'.
