It's A Busy Summer For The Cantinetta Site
With pop-up restaurants and a new trattoria opening in September
Rebecca Mascarenhas & Theo Randall have announced a new business partnership to launch Bibo in Putney, on the former site of Cantinetta that Rebecca has owned since 1995.
The modern Italian trattoria will open in September 2013. Theo remains chef/patron of Theo Randall at the InterContinental in Mayfair, London.

But you don't have to wait until September to eat at Cantinetta and you can choose if you would like the chef to be Theo or Phil Howard!
Phil has announced that there will be a pop up restaurant two Pop Up events to be held at Cantinetta restaurant on 5th and 6th July.
Phil told PutneySW15.com:"My business partner, Rebecca Mascarenhas, had a great success with a series of pop up restaurants in 2010 to support Action against Hunger in their work in Haiti. I was proud to be one of the chefs to support the innovative fundraiser then and would be delighted if you would join me in this event as well."
He continued:" I will be cooking a master-blaster dinner on July 5th and this will be followed by a show stopper from my good friend, Theo Randall on the 6th. Theo is the celebrated chef/ proprietor at Theo Randall at the Intercontinental. Prior to that he was the Head Chef at the River Café. With these two nights of cracking food and great fun we hope to raise a good chunk of this sum."
The venture is to raise funds for a project over the water in Fulham. Phil told PutneySW15.com: "A couple of years ago I started thinking about trying to find a plot of urban (or as local as possible) land on which to grow fruit and vegetables to supply The Square. Of course the idea is lovely and indeed I made some headway with said plan! However, at the point of signing a professional land search consultant it dawned on me that should the search yield a suitable site, I knew precious little (nothing) about growing fruit and veg.
" Heaven intervened, in the form of Father Joe with plan B. Joe is the vicar of All Saints Church on the Fulham side of Putney Bridge. He is a close friend. With impeccable God given timing Joe revealed that tucked away behind his church and Fulham Palace up the road was a 3.5 acre walled garden in a state of complete disrepair - abandoned and lost in time.
" To cut a long story short this garden, along with various other aspects of Fulham Palace were granted heritage lottery funding to help restore them to their former glory. The space is set to go, the gardeners have been appointed and to give the garden a realistic send off a fund has been created to pay for the finer details such as working tools and plants. To run and manage a 3.5 acre walled garden costs money. I have a huge vested interest in this project as I have agreed to buy all produce that I can in order to help achieve a condition of the funding - that the project is fully self- supporting within 5 years."
| Dinners will cost £45 for a three course meal including coffee and water but excluding service. There will be a small wine list available but feel free to bring a bottle if you wish (a corkage charge of £20 will apply).
