Local Italian restaurant Zagarone has this month opened a second outlet in the Putney area.
In addition to their existing restaurant on the Upper Richmond Road which offers a conventional Italian menu consisting largely of pizza and pasta they will be offering ‘cicchetti’ style food at a new restaurant and aperitivo bar on the Putney Bridge Road. It is at number 283 the former site of the Glass Dome steak house restaurant.
Cicchetti are small snacks similar to Spanish tapas which originate from the area around Venice and usually consist of small servings of meat, fish or vegetables served on a bed of polenta. Central London has seen a number of restaurants opening in recent years following the success of the Polpo chain.
The new restaurant is open in the evenings from 5m – 11pm.
