By leaving "sticky notes" with your opinions on the cyber building or space
Roehampton town centre has been recreated online to give residents an innovative way in which to share ideas and opinions about ways to improve the area.
Using an online tool called StickyWorld, local people will be able to take a virtual tour of the area around Allbrook House and Danebury Avenue and post “sticky notes” on buildings and public spaces they want to comment on.
Once a note has been stuck on an area, people can type their views for others to see – and fellow residents can add their comments or carry on conversations.
And to ensure everyone has a chance to have their say, staff at Roehampton Library will be on hand to show people without internet access at home how to use Stickyworld on library computers.
Alternatively, those that prefer to see something physical can go to either Roehampton Library or the local housing office and put hand written comments on a large-scale map of the town centre.
The Stickyworld Roehampton project is part of Wandsworth Council’s multi-million pound plan to improve the town centre, the quality of housing and local shops.
Roehampton residents have already been invited to work with the council to see how improvements can be made by taking part in drop in sessions and telephone surveys.
In addition, many residents will receive a postal survey through their door over the next few days asking for their thoughts on regeneration options.
Members of the public are also being called on to help explore how access to services can be improved, particularly in areas like employment, training, education, health and community safety.
Councillor Ravi Govindia, leader of the council, said: “We want to know what you think about your neighbourhood. What would you change? August 31, 2012rif">To help you answer these questions we’ve created a quick, easy and fun way for you to talk to us.
“The StickyWorld tool lets you take a virtual tour of Roehampton and post sticky notes around the place about what you like, what you don’t and what improvements you want to see. And anyone can take part. If you don’t have a computer at home simply use one at Roehampton Library – and if you don’t want to have your say online, you can always stick written comments directly onto maps at either the library or the area housing office.”

The town hall has for some time been looking at ways to improve the area around the centre of Roehampton, with previous proposals to refurbish and rebuild the area around Allbrook House and Danebury Avenue having to be shelved in 2009 due to the onset of the recession.
Currently there are no firm proposals, but the same area is being looked at for improvement, providing such work safeguards, protects and enhances the interests of local people and businesses.
