Raising concerns in a letter to the Leader of Wandsworth Council
Having viewed the plans unveiled by the Council for a new primary school on the disused Putney Hospital site to accommodate 470 schoolchildren and 24 flats; the Society has responded with a number of concerns for the plans for the site which is surrounded by conservation area and public common land. These include:
- The size of the site to accommodate both needs of school and flat residents
- The idea of having a playground on the roof
- The increase in traffic in the Lower Richmond Road
- The lack of parking and dropping off space
- The lack of alternative good local public transport
- but also supporting the need for an additional school in Putney and the possibility of an alternative site
