A spokesperson told PutneySW15.com:
"We are delighted to be able to offer such a wide range of Christmas cards (including at least one religious design per charity), 'real' Advent calendars along with a range of Christmas goods, Christmas wrapping paper and gift tags."
Many of the volunteers who man the shop have been involved for years and come from the local community and charities involved and are very welcoming and helpful. Their continued support and enthusiasm is amazing and without them the shops simply could not operate. If you could offer any help between October and December, please call into the Putney shop or contact CFGC directly.
Today, Cards for Good Causes is the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation with over 300 outlets nationally and its aims are simple – to make Christmas cards as widely available as possible and to increase the awareness of the charities that we represent. Cards for Good Causes Limited (CFGC) pays the participating charities (or their trading subsidiaries) at least 75p in every pound from their card sales, less the VAT payable on the amount retained by CFGC. The retained amount covers CFGC’s costs of running the temporary charity Christmas card shops. In addition to these costs, the participants have to pay for the production and distribution of their cards.
So look out for the red triangular Santa sign for the best selection of charity Christmas cards and gifts!
