Christmas Starts This Friday

Putney’s launches Christmas with the Positively Putney Christmas Light Switch On on Friday 30 November, with the Christmas Market from 3.00pm to 8pm in Church Square.

They will be selling a wide range of gifts, street food and drinks, plus live music and performances from local schools and drama groups:

Rodeo reindeer in Putney

Kiko Mathews, world record holder for rowing the Atlantic solo and environmentalist will switch on the lights at 6pm. Kiko's next challenge is Kik Plastic, a community of action around the problem of ocean plastics: "Over 3 months I’ll cycle the coast of the UK, joined on each of the 12 stages by volunteer riders from sponsor organisations. At the end of each day, we’ll meet with a local school and do a beach clean together".

The Roehampton Lantern Parade will be on Wednesday 12 December, meeting at Roehampton Library at 4pm for the parade, carols and refreshments.
