Join Rhiannon and Will for an eclectic evening of Italian opera, glittering American song and quirky French mélodie on Friday 17th January (7.30-9.30pm) at St Margaret’s Church,Putney Park Lane, SW15 5HU.
Award winning soprano, Rhiannon Llewellyn, studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Rhiannon works regularly as a principal artist and cover at companies all over the UK including Glyndebourne Opera, Scottish Opera, English National Opera and Garsington Opera.
Rhiannon, no stranger to the concert platform has appeared as a soloist in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House Crush Room, Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall in repertoire ranging from Bach to Britten and beyond.
William Cole made his U.S. debut conducting Philip Venables’ 4.48 Psychosis at the Prototype Festival in New York in January 2019. With a repertoire from Baroque opera to new compositions, other recent highlights include his debut with the Britten Sinfonia, Hans Abrahamsen’s Schnee with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and Purcell’s The Fairy Queen for Waterperry Opera Festival. Active in the opera house and the concert stage, recent and future engagements include projects with the Royal Opera Covent Garden, English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Operá National du Rhin, Music Theatre Wales, Snape Maltings’ Jerwood Opera Programme and The Grange Festival.
A committed exponent of new and experimental work, he is Music Director of Filthy Lucre, an immersive mixed-genre collective with whom he has worked with artists from dance, sculpture, and film in music from Xenakis to The Clash. Other work in this area includes major works by Ligeti, Boulez, Grisey, Vivier and Kurtág as well as new works by composers including Patricia Alessandrini, Emily Howard, Shiori Usui and Laurence Osborn. In the 2019/20 season he will take part in Birmingham Contemporary Music Group’s NEXT programme.
Alongside his work as a conductor William is in demand as an accompanist and continuo player. William studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was a Repetiteur Fellow.
