On Sunday 5th May,the British Sri Lankan Association (BRISLA), in coordination with St Mary’s Church, are putting on an event titled ‘Performance for Peace.
The event includes a performance by Jason Kouchak, an acclaimed classical pianist, both in Europe and Asia, who has enjoyed regular guest appearances with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Jason will play reflections on unity and hope.
A spokesperson for BRISLA
told this website: "We would like to express our sadness at the terrible tragedy in Sri Lanka during the holy Easter Sunday.
We would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected; worshippers of Christian faith during the holy Easter weekend, and individuals and families – both local and from overseas, who lost their lives. Our thoughts are also with the unfortunate members of all communities who were injured and who experienced this terrible scene.
"It is now more important than ever to highlight the objectives that BRISLA promotes in unity with diversity.
Moving forward, it is imperative that all of us from diverse origins – of all faiths and none, as members of our shared humanity, come together to advance the spirit of peace, seeking to coexist in harmony".
