Putney Churches To Broadcast Remembrance Services Live

With attendance not recommended it will still be possible to participate

A more traditional remembrance service held last year in the area

On this most unusual and challenging of Remembrance Sunday’s, St Mary’s Putney is offering the opportunity for everyone to participate in this year’s service.

On Sunday 8 November at 10:55am the annual will be broadcast live from St Mary's in Putney.

Most guests, including veterans, civic leaders, serving personnel and representatives of cadets, uniformed organisations, charities, businesses and other groups will be able to watch live online.

Those leading the service will be present in church and will lay wreaths on behalf of any group who are able to get them to St Mary's Church prior to the service.

A spokesperson for the Church said, “At this difficult time, our hope and prayer is that our collective remembering, honouring and holding before God will still be a good and important occasion for us all, albeit experienced in a very different way to normal.”

After the service, the wreaths will be moved to the Market Square Cross and secured.

All are very welcome to take part by watching and can access the service on You Tube.

All Saints Church will also broadcast worship from the church building, and with musicians are allowed to be in church with the clergy to provide music for those services. They hope you’ll join them on Sunday at 10.30am as they celebrate the Eucharist via Zoom and remember those who have died in war.

The link for the Zoom call is here and the Meeting ID: is 970 4090 2062 Passcode: 630377.

From 9 November the church will be open for individual prayer on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 10am and 12 noo
