The L shaped pool at Putney Leisure Centre is in an exhibition at the V&A Museum, South Kensington that explores the architectural, cultural and social history of indoor and outdoor swimming baths and pools in the United Kingdom.
Designed by Powell & Moya, the pool allowed for diving even while the main pool was in use, making it cheaper to operate.
Featuring drawings, models, photographs and film footage, Into the Blue reveals the architectural setting of swimming and bathing from Roman springs and Victorian bathhouses to contemporary swimming spaces.
The display is running until 19 April 2020, 10am to 5.45pm in the V&A+RIBA Architecture Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, London SW7 2RL.
