This Saturday (17 May) will see the Putney Choral Society perform its Spring Concert.
Conducted by Jamie Powe and featuring a professional orchestra and soloists, the programme features Mozart’s Requiem, Pergolisi’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Adagio & Fugue in C Minor K.546.
It is taking place at St. Paul’s Church on Augustus Road, Southfields (SW18 6EW) a venue which has accessible facilities.

PCS performs several concerts annually, often accompanied by professional soloists and orchestras. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7:15 to 9:15pm at Putney High Junior School. PCS is open to all voice parts, and no audition is required. Prospective members are welcome to attend up to three rehearsals before committing. While the choir is inclusive, members are encouraged to prepare outside rehearsals using provided practice materials.
The choir is led by Music Director Jamie Powe, a distinguished conductor with degrees from Oxford and the Royal Academy of Music. He has conducted at prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall and leads several other choirs across London.
The Assistant Music Director is Elspeth Wilkes, an accomplished pianist and conductor who has performed at venues including St John’s Smith Square and the Royal Opera House.
