Thirty three venues open during Artists’ Open House weekends
On the first two weekends of October, 33 venues in Putney will be showing a range of artworks created by over 50 local artists, including oil paintings, watercolours, prints, sculpture , jewellery, fashion, photography, ceramics and many other media.
Artists’ Open House is an annual event giving everyone the opportunity to visit, talk to and buy from, local artists in their homes and studios.
The artists who have created the artoworks will be present throughout the show, to talk about their work.
Visitors can experience first hand the extensive creative talents that exist within their vibrant art community. Entry to all studios is free.
The event is publicised locally by the arrival of lilac coloured bicycles, complete with maps, showing where the artists are located and a small selection of their work. It is also ‘flagged-up’ by lilac banners outside artist’s studios and homes.
While some of the artists have been commissioned to create major public pieces and won international competitions, others are young full-time artists, part timers, or those pottering away
in creative retirement. They all have one thing in common, a passion for their work.
Artists’ Open House takes place over two weekends October 5th and 6th, and October 12th and 13th. Opening times 11am to 6pm.
