Christine Brewer gave Putney Music a wonderful evening.  Her vibrant personality enchanted us all as she spoke of her life history and career. Christine grew up in a small town in Illinois.

She took a degree in Music Education and taught in a school in Marissa Illinois. Her husband encouraged her to follow a career in singing, which has gone from strength to strength, the BBC naming her among the Top 20 sopranos of all time.

Christine talked warmly of an out reach programme she has with sixth grade children in the Marissa Elementary School, where she herself once taught. Her close involvement with these classes are giving the children an interest and love of Opera.
                    
One of the delights of the evening was listening to many excepts of her glorious voice. This brought to a close a truly exceptional season of Putney Music evenings.
