Putney High School’s Junior Choir excels in the BBC Songs of Praise Choir of the Year
The choir was, for the second time in two years, a finalist in this televised competition held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London’s Southbank.
Putney’s choir was selected from 145 nationwide to make it into the final three junior choirs. The selection process included a visit to the school by the BBC, to work with the girls aged nine to 11 years.
Mrs Wendy Archibald, Director of Music at Putney High School Junior Department, said: “The girls enjoyed a wonderful weekend sharing their music with choirs from around the country.”
The competition will be televised on Sunday 11th April on BBC1, so watch to see how the girls got on!
