Sabine van der Linden has been selected for not one but two national lacrosse teams!
Sabine will be representing Holland in the Senior Lacrosse World Cup in Prague this June. And she is part of the England training squad for the 2010 Under 19 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Sabine, 16, has also been achieving success as Co-Captain of Putney High School’s own lacrosse team. This month, it beat off competition from schools such as North London Collegiate and St Catherine’s Bramley to be named one of the top 12 school lacrosse teams in the country.
Sabine, from Barnes, first took up lacrosse aged 11, at Putney High School. Within two years, her talent had been spotted and she was selected for England’s national training programme. She said: “I’m really excited about playing for Holland in the World Cup in June. It’s a tremendous opportunity for me, though a bit scary! Our first two matches are against Korea and Ireland and then we will see how the draw unfolds from there.”
Sabine (centre of picture in her Holland kit) has already been commended as one of Holland’s top players in a match against Germany. Now she is looking forward to playing for England Under 19s against Scotland and Wales on March 21-22 at the Home Internationals tournament in Edinburgh.
Emma Fraser, Putney High School’s Head of PE, said: “This is a stunning achievement for Sabine, who is an important member of our highly successful lacrosse squad.”
