Putney High School Girls return to collect A'Levels

Headmistress is "delighted" with record results

Putney High School is celebrating continuing success with its best ever performance at “A” level. Girls have come in to collect their eagerly-awaited results, with many breaking records this year.

Many have recently returned from trips to far-flung destinations such as Tanzania, Ecuador, Honduras and India, where new links were being forged with India’s top girls’ school, the MGD School in Jaipur. Others have been playing Lacrosse and netball in Canada and the USA.

All the girls passed their A Levels with 34 girls (56%of the year) achieving three or more ‘A’ grades and 10 students being awarded 4 As. 94% of the results were grades A or B. Furthermore, of 8 students taking the Advanced Extension Awards, three were awarded distinctions and four merits. In all, nine girls achieved the grades required for their places at Oxford or Cambridge.

Headmistress, Dr Denise Lodge, said, “We are all delighted with these outstanding results which really reflect the standard of teaching here at Putney High as well as the huge commitment from the girls themselves. The girls have shown that it possible to combine a wide range of extra-curricular interests with extremely high academic achievement.”
