The Putney Society asks - What do residents want?
Putney town centre seems to be maintaining its retail position and attracting shoppers, whilst High Streets elsewhere show signs of decline as the economy splutters. But what do we, as local residents, want - to make us prefer to shop in our own town centre, rather than else-where? What would make the shopping experience in Putney even better?
Speakers include Stephen Wallace, Putney's Town Centre Manager, Jan Willoughby, the Manager of Sainsburys, Werter Road, and long-time Putney resident, Chartered Surveyor, Alan Fuller, whose understanding of the local property market around our town centre will be par-ticularly valuable.
They will give us their views on Putney's retail future and consider our sug-gestions for changes we might wish for. Mary Portas, the retail guru, is preparing a report for the Government on the future of High Street shopping. What comments should the Society send to her? Come and have your say.
