Abridged version of Shakespeare's play is by Roger Warren
Putney Arts Theatre is on Ravenna Road
Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is to be performed at the Putney Arts Theatre.
An abridged version by Roger Warren, running to 80 minutes long will be directed by Barney Hart Dyke.
Four sparring lovers find themselves in an enchanted forest full of sprites and fairies, where the feuding Fairy King and Queen are at war over the possession of an Indian boy. Nearby, a group of hard-handed amateur actors are rehearsing their play for the Duke and Duchess. What happens when fairies and humans collide? Cue magic, mischief, hilarity and a healthy dose of fantasy.
It takes place from Thursday 15 - Saturday 17 September at 8pm with a Saturday matinee at 3pm.
Tickets cost £16 plus booking fee or £12 for senior citizens, students, under 18s, those on income support and members of Putney Theatre Company and can be bought online.
