Fifteen-year-old Eugene Morris Jerome lives with his eccentric Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York. It's 1937 and, along with the World Series, cousin Nora seems to be playing havoc with Eugene's brain. All around him things are changing for better or worse and life may never be the same again.
