In addition to the cycling we have some great activities and entertainment to keep you interested. In Lacy Rd (by The Exchange) we have live street singing/performances from Putney Arts Theatre Group 64 and Putney Light Operatics, plus face painting and a large bouncy castle. Then in Church Square (by Putney Bridge/Odeon) we have children's rides provided by Carters Steam Fair, as well as live music and an outdoor BBQ in the forecourt of St Mary's Church.
Many pubs and restaurants will be showing the cycle event live on large screen TV's (see listing) and some also have outside BBQ's, so you can relax and soak up the atmosphere over a refreshing drink or relaxing meal.
The schedule of live street performances in Lacy Road (by The Exchange/Halfords) is:
• Putney Arts Theatre Group 64 youth theatre at 12.30pm and again at 1.15pm
• Putney Light Operatics at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm
RideLondon is in two parts, a mass-participation cycle event followed by a race. Between 6am and 8am around 20,000 'RideLondon 100' cyclists will set off from London via the A4 into Surrey, and then return though Putney , arriving from 9.45am to late aftrenoon. Then at around 5.30pm 'till 6.15pm the 150 'RideLondon London-Surrey Classic' professional racers will enter the final leg of their 130 mile race.
So, why not put a note in your diary and meet up with friends for a great day in Putney!
Best to walk, cycle (make sure to lock-up!) or come by train to Putney that day, as buses and roads will suffer disruption.
