Residents & commuters will have noticed ongoing building works by The Priory on Bank Lane - now you can go and see what has been built! A specialist school - the newly opened Priory Lodge School in Roehampton is holding an open day to allow members of the public to view its facilities as well as find out about job opportunities.

The school, which is based in the grounds of the existing Roehampton Priory Hospital, caters for young people with autistic spectrum disorders. Local residents, businesses, parents and representatives from state and independent schools are invited to attend the open day on June 22 between the hours of 8.30am to 10.30am, 11.30am to 1.30pm, 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

The school currently operates with approximately eight staff, however as the site develops new job opportunities will be created.  Prospective employees are encouraged to attend the drop-in day for more information on positions available and to pick up application forms.

Over the next two years the school hopes to expand to employ up to 30 staff, covering a range of areas including administration, teaching support and therapy.

Members of the public are welcome to look around the school and talk to staff about the
teaching facilities available for students with autistic spectrum disorders, in particular
Asperger’s Syndrome and associated learning difficulties.

David Curry, School Principal at The Priory Lodge School, said: “The open day will provide a
great opportunity for members of the public to have a look around the school and to really get
a feel for what we do. We are hoping to have a range of job opportunities available, so are
encouraging anyone who would be interested to come along to speak to staff and pick up an
application pack.”
