Artists’ Open House offers the public a brief but rewarding glimpse into the artist's work ing environment, giving visitors the opportunity to engage with them directly.
Now in its eighth year, Wandsworth Artists’ Open House embraces a variety of mediums in: painting s, sculpture, jewellery design, fine art photography, prints, etchings and drawings, as well as ceramics, textiles and craft. Many visitors enjoy buy ing their first unique piece of original artwork and find themselves returning year after year. In 2009 , the event attracted in the region of 8,000 visitors to over 200 venues across the borough. This year, some 50+ artists will be exhibiting their work from 27 locations dotted around Putney alone.
Amongst the mix of talented artists in Putney..... you’ll find BP Travel award-winner Isobel Peachy, who has recently completed a portrait commission on Her Majesty the Queen; Alan Manham’s beautiful naked stoneware pots; stunning fine art images by photographer Helen Fickling; etching and paintings by well-known artist Margaret Knott, interesting sculpture by Gilbert Wyman and Sophie Marsham as well as paintings by Alan Smart, Jo Bowen and Elizabeth Macdonnell to name just a few.
Visit local artists’ and explore what Putney has to offer. It makes a great day out for the whole family with many cafe’s and restaurants supporting the event along the way.
