In October 2008 Holly received a kidney from her old childhood friend after five years of dialysis. Having expereinced the difference a kidney transplant can make to life she is a strong believer and advocate in transplantation and through her work on the 'Give and Let Live' exhibition she hopes that people will feel encouraged to think and talk about organ donation.
Holly Cocker has been working as a freelance photographer for the past two years. She has worked in the TV and film industry since 2004 working for companies such as the BBC, Endemol, Stink TV and Fresh Films. In 2009 she produced an award winning film entitled Finding Sol, which is being entered into many festivals in 2010. In January 2010 Holly is starting an MA in documentary film at London College of Communication to develop her skills in documentary filmmaking.
