as the two day event suceeds in raising over £10,000
Hundreds of jazz fans turned out to enjoy free performances throughout the weekend, the first being the John Ongom Big Band who entertained music lovers outside the Piazza at Putney waterfront on Saturday afternoon.
A Thames river cruise also took place on Saturday evening, attended by the Royal Hospital Chief Executive, Peter Franklyn.
Alex Lee, Community and Events Officer for Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, who managed the organisation of the event, says, “The aim of Jazz on the River was to raise the hospital’s profile in the community and make people aware of who we are and what we do, and at the same time, provide a free and enjoyable event to say thanks our regular supporters. To do this, and raise £10,000 is a fantastic achievement, and is thanks to the huge support wereceived from everyone who took part.”
All the money raised by the Jazz on the River event, will go towards the assessment, treatment and care of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability’s 240 patients.
