Local Award Winning Publican Holds Charity Fund Raiser
Quiz night at the Bricklayers for Headway South-West London
Last Monday, 10th November, Becky Newman became the proud recipient of a Wandsworth Civic Award. This was in recognition of fund-raising she has achieved for Headway, principally through mery extreme marathon running at the North Pole, Great Wall of China and, earlier this year, in the infamous Marathon des Sables.

Becky is a trustee of Headway South-West London, a local charity that supports victims of brain injury, their families and carers. Becky became involved when her sister died of a brain haemorrhage, aged 43, ten years ago. She told PutneySW15 that more funds are needed:
"We are currently looking to extend our services into Richmond. We receive no government funding and are totally reliant on private donations. As well as raising money from my running, I also host events at my pub, The Bricklayer's Arms. On Wednesday 26th November we are having a pub quiz here and we would greatly appreciate the support of the local community".
