Predicted to be a future jazz legend
Now that Ella, Sarah, Billie and Dinah are gone there is but a very small number of swinging singers truly in the same mould as those legends. Salena Jones is widely acknowledged as one of that select number of singers, and her star quality shines brightly on the world stage of jazz and great music.
Time Out - “Stunning British based US singer, Salena Jones has a touch of Sarah Vaughan in her technique and a great feel for working intimate jazz venues. She's on fine form, packing a soulful and emotional punch live and is backed here by her highly skilled band: pianist Will Bartlett, bassist Matt Ridley, drummer Pat Davey, saxophonist Richard Shepherd, percussionist Hugh Wilkinson and star trumpeter Martin Shaw.” Evening Standard- "Disciples who hung on her every sound at Ronnie Scott's for years will know just what the velvet voice can do to jazz, blues, ballads and pop".
Over her career Salena Jones has sung with Cab Colloway, Louis Armstrong , Sarah Vaughan, Hank Jones, Ray Brown, Maynard Ferguson, Mark Murphy,Kenny Burrell, Dudley Moore, Roy Budd, Toots Thielemans , Tom Jones, Antonio Carlos Jobim, the BBC Big Band and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Salena has made 40 solo albums to date and sung on every continent.
