Performing the challenging moving play Matilda Liar
Group 64 are thrilled to have been chosen to perform at the International Youth Arts Festival in Kingston after the success of their production at the National Theatre last summer. The play Matilda Liar is an exciting challenge for Group 64’s Young Company of 16-18 year olds, as they bring to life a dramatic and challenging script.
Matilda Liar is a powerful and moving play. ‘The style of the piece is a mixture of the gothic cautionary tale and a glittering fairy-tale’ Debbie Isitt (author). At the heart of her dysfunctional family Matilda lies and lies, until one day everything changes and she finds she can only tell the truth. A stylish piece of physical theatre, which will keep you gripped as chaos ensues!
Director Nicola Sterry says:“Group 64’s Young Company are incredibly talented performers, as a cast they have thrown themselves into this challenging script with amazing passion and openness to exploration, resulting in an exciting and though-provoking piece of theatre”
