Putney residents are invited to a free construction recruitment event next week showcasing the wide range of jobs and starter roles available through the Nine Elms regeneration programme.
The event, hosted by the council’s Work Match recruitment team, is exclusively for borough residents and aims to put local people in pole position for the new opportunities stemming from the area’s revival.

Local people will have a chance to find out about the latest construction vacancies, and to meet landowners, developers and contractors involved in the multi-billion pound project.
Visitors will also be able to register with the Work Match team so they are kept up to date with new opportunities as they become available.
Wandsworth Council’s employment and skills spokesperson Cllr Kim Caddy said:
“The Nine Elms development is bringing a whole host of new job opportunities to our borough, and we want to make sure that Wandsworth residents are the first to benefit. The Work Match team are dedicated to helping local residents into new jobs created across the borough, so if you’re looking for work in construction, or want to know more about working in the industry, the Nine Elms construction recruitment event is for you.”
The Work Match service also has access to a range of opportunities in other industries including hospitality, catering, customer service and security.
The service is free, exclusively for Wandsworth residents, with traineeships, apprenticeships, part-time work and full time positions on offer.
The Work Match team also offer coaching in the run up to interviews, pre-employment training, guidance with applications, and help to build confidence.
