Putney Clean Air Fair Postponed

Organisers decided to call off event after announcement of new Covid guidelines

Putney’s first Clean Air Fair which was due to take place on Sunday, 20 September has been postponed.

The organisers took the decision following the Government’s announcement restricting indoor and outdoor gatherings to six people. They say it will no longer be possible to hold the Fair and comply with current Covid-19 guidelines.

Putney MP Fleur Anderson said, “I know you many of you will be disappointed, I am too. But this is the right decision to keep everyone in Putney safe and limit the spread of the virus.

“The support you have shown and efforts you have gone to is greatly appreciated and not wasted. The Clean Air Fair is not cancelled, just on hold for now until it is safe for all to attend.

“Work is underway to spread the message and take down promotional posters. You can help by sharing the message on social media and with anyone you have invited to take part on the day.

“Stay safe and I look forward to welcoming you all to the Clean Air Fair in the near future.”

Resident groups and local Businesses had been working with Fleur Anderson to host the fair outside St Marys Church at 11- 3PM. During the course of the day residents would have had an opportunity to try out new EBikes, buy food and take home their very own bulbs to plant at home from Green the Grid.

The aim of the Clean Air Fair is to increase awareness of air pollution levels and the link between Covid 19 in Putney. Residents will have an opportunity to see what local businesses and groups have been working on and how to join in on the action.
