Olympic Studios Celebrates David Bowie's 70th Birthday

Will Williams launches Shavasana Disco in Barnes

Will Williams worked in the music industry for several years before combining his two great loves of music and meditation to create Shavasana Disco. The David Bowie special will be housed in the iconic Olympic Studios in Barnes, South London, where fans will be able to experience the works of a master in a way like no other, allowing the meditation session to heighten the senses on two of Bowie's most renowned LPs.

With over 100 years of history, Olympic Studios has been graced with numerous esteemed recording artists alongside Bowie, including The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Eagles, Pulp, Led Zeppelin and Oasis and many more. Restored in 2013, the studios now boast a state of the art cinema plus an award winning Dolby Atmos 3D sound system, one of the finest soundsystems in Europe.

Holding a full album playback of Diamond Dogs, Bowie’s eighth studio album remains a standout favourite of his impressive canon complete with hit singles ‘Rebel Rebel’ and the title track ‘Diamond Dogs’. Inspired by George Orwell’s 1984, Diamond Dogs saw Bowie embrace a new character in Halloween Jack, a move that would bring further unprecedented success to the UK’s No.1 rock icon, loved all over the world.

As well as guided meditation and a full playback of Diamond Dogs, Shavasana Disco will also hold a bonus playback of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972), exploring yet another of Bowie’s multi-faceted characters.

Whether a newcomer to each album or an avid Bowie collector, this brand new concept is set to refresh the listening experience with a unique approach to wellbeing and classic albums alike, a blend that’s never been seen or heard before.
