Giving cookery demonstrations at Barnes Food Fair
On Saturday September 21, three of Britain’s finest chefs are forsaking their professional kitchens to cook in a village hall and raise funds for local village charities.
Two star Michelin chef and Great British Menu winner Phil Howard will be joined by Angela Hartnett and Theo Randall at the Barnes Food Fair to run cookery demonstrations in the local village hall.
The demos are part of a one day event set around Barnes’ idyllic village pond in which over 80 artisan food producers will showcase their wares in a grand marquee. The event will be compered by food writer William Sitwell.
“The event is part county show and part village fête, with Michelin starred chefs thrown into the mix – it’s huge fun.” says Phil Howard “I live locally and I’m very happy to get involved with such a great community event for such a good cause.”
As well as cooking at his Michelin starred restaurant The Square, Phil oversees the food at local Barnes restaurant Sonny’s Kitchen which according to Times restaurant critic Giles Coren served him “one of the meals of my life”.
Barnes Food Fair will take place on Saturday September 21, and the cookery demonstrations will run between 10.30am and 4.00pm.
Tickets to the fair cost £3.00 and tickets for the cookery demonstrations cost £10.00. Tickets for the demos can be bought in advance from www.barnesfoodfair.com.
