Six new boats will be named on 27th November @3pm
British Rowing has provided £12,500 in matched funding to the club to pay for six new boats and a new year Learn to Row course.
The course will be a chance for adults to take up the sport. Each course will run for 12 sessions, with the opportunity to join the club at the end of the course.
British Rowing, the sport’s national governing body, is working with local rowing clubs to get more people enjoying the sport. The club has also been given £4,000 to help towards training new coaches.
Barn Elms Boathouse is run by the council to give all sections of the Wandsworth community the chance to take part in rowing. It offers courses for adults and children and works extensively with schools.
Everyone is welcome to go along to the naming ceremony, and find out more about the new rowing courses. It will be held at 3pm on November 27 outside the boathouse, which can be found on the towpath between Putney and the London Wetlands Centre.
