Always Be Comedy starts monthly comedy night on 27th October
Always Be Comedy in conjunction with Putney Arts Theatre are excited to announce a new monthly comedy night held exclusively at Putney Arts Theatre. Bringing the brightest and biggest up-and-coming names in comedy with new and exclusive material, it is the perfect way to spend a Sunday evening to banish those Monday-morning blues.
The first gig will take place on Sunday 27th October at Putney Arts Theatre and feature comedy acts from stage and screen. Superstar MC and Always Be Comedy founder James Gill will be on hand with his hilarious games to get the audience laughing, followed by a fantastic line up:
ROMESH RANGANATHAN – Fast becoming one of the most exciting acts on the circuit, Romesh has performed on Comedy Central at the Comedy Store (Comedy Central), Chris Ramsey's Edinburgh Fringe (BBC3) and Russell Howard’s Good News. Romesh has just been nominated as best newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2013. 'Extraordinarily hilarious' (Three Weeks).
SARA PASCOE – A writer, stand up and actress with roles in The Thick Of It and performances on BBCs Live at the Apollo, C4’s Stand Up for the Week and Live at the Comedy Store on Comedy Central. ‘Always clever, occasionally exquisite’ (Independent).
JOEL DOMMETT – A hugely talented actor and stand up, Joel is one of the fastest rising starts on the UK comedy circuit, appearing on BBC3s Impractical Jokers and Russell Howard’s Good News, as well as acting roles in Ch4s Skins. ‘Manically funny act – 5*’ (Three Weeks)
NAT LUURTSEEMA – Nat was 2008 Chortle Best Newcomer Nominee after just 8 months of doing stand up. She reached the finals of Funny Women and most recently write and starred in Girl Friday, part of Channel 4s Comedy Showcase. ‘Her inventive witty routines demonstrate a wonderfully warped logic’ (Chortle)
FUNMBI – Charming and instantly likeable, Funmbi won Best newcomer at the Black Entertainment Comedy Awards, going on to win the Leicester Square New Act of the Year in 2012. ‘A charming young comic, he’s got the jokes to back up his charm’. (Time Out)
