World Premiere To Celebrate 1885's Choir's 20th Birthday

Composer Peter Foggitt has been commissioned by the 1885 Singers & Orchestra

A World Premiere is being performed in All Saints Church Putney Common on 26th March to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1885 Singers.

Composer Peter Foggitt has set the Song of Songs, for four solo singers, choir and full orchestra. Peter is a pianist/soloist who collaborates with singers and instrumentalists. He is also an accomplished organist and composer with recent commissions that include song-cycles and two operas including this piece for the 1885 Singers.

Conductor Alison Hunka is delighted with the piece, commissioned by the 1885 Singers. The choir feels energised and inspired rehearsing the work.

The Faure Requiem will also be performed. The concert starts at 7.30. Tickets at the door £15 ( £10 concessions)
